Additional Considerations
FY 2006 - 2007

Things that could be done if the entire office move budget is not used (up to $40,000).

1. Administrative support for roundtables .

Currently we
o

? Offer the roundtables CDM’s assistance in running meeting,
agenda d evelopm ent, etc.

? O ffer $200/month to roundtables that ask: Gunnison and Arkansas
are using it; Colorado is considering .

If all roundtables use this the costs would be :
o

? $200/month/RT = $21,600

? $300/month/RT = $32,400

2. Hold a Roundtable Convention – A 1 day meetin g for all roundtables the get
together .

3. Hold cross roundtable training. Similar to what we did with CIPP in October.

Potential topics/workshops include:
o

? Informational sessions on products coming out of SWSI II;

? Training for roundtable leadership on buil ding their capacity as a
roundtable to more efficiently and effectively fulfill their mission;

? Groundwater supplies and aquifer storage;

? How geology effects water quality;

? The impact of Colorado’s energy industry on water demands;
and/or

? Moving non - consump tive water needs assessments forward.

Costs reduced if done cooperatively with another entity; we paid $2,500
o
for 65 RT members to attend the CIPP workshop; cost would be
significantly more if we did it ourselves.

4. CSU Network Analysis
?

See proposal - $17,5 00
?

Colorado Institute of Public Policy or CIPP (Lyn Kathlene) has pursued
this idea in the past.
?

I have been supportive of the concept but the scale was too large for us to
fund individually.
?

She is reworking the proposal to do a network analysis for one r oundtable
as a demonstration project. If successful, the Colorado Water Resources
Research Institute may fund it program wide during their next funding
cycle.
?

In the meantime, encouraged her to talk with the IBCC POPE WG.

1
