South Platte Basin Roundtable Meeting Minutes
June 12, 2007
Longmont, Colorado

Please contact Lisa McVicker for any changes or corrections to the minutes:
mcvicker@qwest.net

NEXT MEETING: Tuesday, July 10, Longmont, CO, 4 pm

Bill Jerke calls the meeting to order at 4: l2pm.

I. Standard Reports:
. IBCC Report:
Mike Shimmin:
At last meeting, no decisions made; 2 major topics of discussion:
1) Upcoming study of Colorado River Basin for which CWBC is
charged by legislature and how that study will be scoped; CWBC
staff working on the draft; will present at next meeting on 6/19 in
Montrose.
2) Discussion of Colorado River Compact and impact of this on all
state decisions.

Eric Wilkinson: Presentation by Ken Knox re: how Compact call would
be administered; also, sequencing of the water availability under the
compact vis a vis consumptive / non-consumptive studies. Some want to
push forward in determining what water availability is and then factor in
these studies; others want to wait for studies. Wilkinson supports pushing
forward and then factor in the studies. Wilkinson sees the wait as an
unnecessary delay.

Harold Evans: This is consistent with this Roundtable when, last
September, we asked for refinements and those have yet to be done; we
need to push ahead.

Wilkinson: Montrose meeting: Four west slope Roundtables will meet to
see their common goals; would suggest that the Roundtables on the
eastern side of the divide should follow suit; to consider what we have in
common; would suggest that this roundtable take a lead in east slope
Roundtables convening to consider common goals.

Bob Streeter: Please clarify your position in seeing that it would be more
useful to determine the water availability in the CO River instead of going
first with the consumptive and non-consumptive study (18 month process)
and then proceed forward with determining the water availability.

1
