H. McConnell, <br />(Pa.) Dale W. Granger, (Mich.) Ira S~ Latimer, Jr., <br />(W. Va.) C. A. Hays, (ORBC) Donald F. Parsons, (WRC) <br />H. A. Hendrickson, (SRR-RBC) Clifford L. Summers, <br />(Mo.) F. W. Montanari, (Colo.) and James Owen, (Neb.) <br />reviewed the findings of their respective workshops <br />and arranged reports which were presented Thursday <br />morning, June 10, to the final general session of <br />the conference. <br /> <br />.":C;; _~. <br /> <br />f~; <br />~~~,}~ <br /> <br />-";.-, . <br />:~~;,:}8~ <br /> <br />~~i~ <br /> <br />A quick summary of the conference and a discussion <br />of next year's meeting by Director W. All Conference <br />attendees will receive a copy.) <br /> <br />lIYDROLQGY COMMITTEE <br />CHAI~ <br /> <br />the Council of Representatives in its May meeting <br />approved the Department of Commerce as the <br />chairing agency for the 1971-72 Hydrology <br />Committee. <br /> <br />The chairmanship, which rotates annually among <br />the members, will be assumed on July 1, 1971 by <br />Mr. Ralph F. Kresge of the Department of Commerce. <br />Mr. Kresge has appointed Mr. John F. Miller as <br />the Committee Secretary. <br /> <br />OHIO RIVER BASEN, <br />COMPREIl)!:NSIVE <br />STUDY <br /> <br />A letter from Assistant Director Donald B. Rice, <br />Office of Management and Budget, dated June 16, 1971, <br />has advised Chairman of the Council, Rogers C. B. <br />Morton, "that there would be no objection to <br />the submission of the report to the Congress for <br />its information". <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Ohio River Basin Comprehensive Study includes <br />a water and related land framework program for <br />flood protection, outdoor recreation, fiShing, <br />hunting, control of low streamflow, groundwater, <br />navigation, electric power generation, land <br />treatment and management, and preservation of <br />sites of historical, cultural, or scenic interest. <br /> <br />\, <br /> <br />It was accomplished by a Coordinating Committee, <br />including representatives of the States of Illinois, <br />
