The Committee on En~ineering Data and Studies whioh was established by <br />the Commission in its second meeting, Harch 26, 1946, has devoted numerous <br />committee sessions and much individual effort to the technical questions in- <br />volved in the compact negotiations. Our aim has besn to assemble engineering <br />data upon whioh we, as enginsers, would be in full agreement and to make <br />engineering analyses upon which the Commission oould rely in formulating a <br />compaot. The Committee has been ably assisted by Messrs. John R. Erickson and <br />R. M. Gildersleeve of.Mr, .Patterson's staf'f', Mr. Guy M. Vincent of' Mr. Knapp's <br />staff and by Mr. D. C. Bondurant whose servicee have been made available to <br />the Representative of the United States through the cooperation of' the <br />District Engineer, U. S. Engineer Office, Albuquerque, New Mexico. <br /> <br />~. In view of' the scope of' the Committee's work we have deemed it advisable <br />to render an interim report to the Commission at this juncture with the intent <br />of using it in preparing a final report when the Cor~ittee's remaining studies <br />are oompleted. It is contempleted that the main body of the final report will <br />cover three main subjects, viz., I. Engineering Data, II. Analysis of <br />Historio Flow, III. Operation Studies. <br /> <br />3. The present interim report contains only a portion of Seotion I, <br />Engineering Data. TI.e material: now submitted as well as progress reports here- <br />tofore presented to the Commission, are considered to be preliminary and in- <br />oomplete in character and subject to revision in the course of our further <br />studies. Therefore, the present report is not suitable and should not be <br />released for public use. <br /> <br />4. It is recommended that the material presented herewith be thoroughly <br />considered and discussed by the Commission in preparation f'or its consideration <br />of our subsequent reports.
