10. Sub-Task 4j: Chatfield Reservoir Analysis

a) Purpose
Compile information from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the
Colorado Water Conservation Board regarding the availability of storage in
Chatfield Reservoir. Identify the procedural steps for making that storage
available to metro area water users and the associated issues including legal
questions, environmental and recreational impacts, and costs.

bJ Approach
Meet with Colorado Water Conservation Board staff and COE officials to
obtain available information regarding the availability of storage space in the
reservoir, operational issues and constraints, economic issues, etc.

Compile and review existing studies, agreements and water rights information.

Interview individuals responsible for management of recreational facilities and
others as necessary to identify recreational and environmental issues.

c) Output
A task memorandum summarizing available information and finding and
identifying steps required for making Chatfield storage available to metro area
water suppliers,
