canal minus all measured amounts of water leaving canal gives total system
loss.

(::::>

'.,,1

c:.:> Lines 7 throu'fh 16 - As on the Yuma Main WLDS, this WLDS can be completed by
C~ making entries only in the AF Diverted column. given an already-set-up Lotus
~ 1-2-3 spreadsheet. For monthly reporting. the data required for entry appear
on the USGS monthly provisionals or the YFO FAX report. The AF diverted
column shows two positions for Reservation and Valley Division delivery
points. The top position for each delivery point is the Indian Unit component
of the delivery; the lower position is the Deeded (Bard) component. For
monthly computations, entries for each componen~ for the Reservation Main,
Titsink, Yaqui. Pontiac. and Walapai Canals are computed by multiplying the
total delivery for each named canal, by the ratio of the number of acres
served by the canal in the unit under consideration (Indian or Deeded) to the
combined adreage of the units irrigated by this same canal. These ratios for
the Indian Unit and the Bard Unit. respectively. are 0.2645 and 0.7355 for the
ReservatiOn Main Canal; 0.6336 and 0.3664 for the Titsink Canal; 0.0851 and
0.9149 for the Yaqui Canal; 1.0 and 0 for the Pontiac and the Walapai Canals.

As an example. the Indian Unit served by the Reservation Main Canal (RMC) is
about 2074 acres and the Deeded Unit acreage served by this canal is about
5767 acres. Combined. they total about 7841 acres. To get the acre-feet
diverted by the Indian Unit for the RMC. the total in acre-feet diverted for
both units for the canal is multiplied by 0.2645 (2074 divided by 7841). For
the Deeded Unit, ~he total acr~-feet diverted for both units for the canal is
multiplied by 0.7355 (5767 divided by 7841).

For the yearly report YFO furnishes an annual summary in their hydrographic
tabulations which give the actual deliveries to the Indian and Bard Units.
For the Reservation Main Canal. a value for the spill at the Cocopah Wasteway
is included on the annual summary. a value not reported by the USGS nor given
on the monthly FAX from YFO. This spilled water is assigned to the Indian and
Bard Units in proportion to the delivery each takes from the AAC at the head
of the RMC. This assignment is made from Form No. YPO-116a as follows:

For the Indian Unit - (((6+8)/(6+7+8+9))1l2)+(6+8)

For the Bard Unit (((7+9)/(6+7+8+9))ll2)+(7+9)

The numbers ,in the preceding formulas indicate the appropriate monthly value
in the columns with these numbers on Form No. YPO-116a.

10
