o
<.."J
C)
C?
~
Q

Develoament of All-American Canal
Water Lass Distribution Sheet

The All-American Canal (AACl Water Loss Distribution Sheet (WLDSl facilitates
the calculation of diversions at Station 60 (USGS Station 09523000l by users
who take delivery through the AAC. Calculations done on this sheet generate
the share of the total AAC seepage loss for each delivery, then add each loss
share to the delivery taken to arrive at an actual diversion at Station 60.
Station 60 at Imperial Dam is a legal point of diversion for the Indian Unit
and the Bard Unit of the Yuma Project Reservation Division. the Cocopah
Indians and the Yuma County Water Users' Association of the Valley Division of
the Yuma Project, the City of Yuma, Imperial Irrigation District (IIDl, and
the Coachella Valley Water District (~lWDl. See sample April 1989 WLDS
following. The computational rationale and format are similar to the April
1989 Yuma Main Canal WLDS previously described. It can be seen the acre-feet
diverted at Siphon Drop on the Yuma Main WLDS become the deliveries at Siphon
Drop (mile-point 14.7l on the AAC WLDS.

The sample sheet has 29 numbered lines which are for reference with the
following:

Line 1 - This line shows two entries. From left to right. the next to last
column has the entry for the total flow diverted at Station 60 in cfs; the
rightmost column shows this value in acre-feet. Flow values may be obtained
from GS prOVisional and yearly listings.

Line 2 - This line would provide the opportunity to account for scheduled
spills along the canal. Review of the r~cord for the past ten years shows
this line not to have been used. No da~a is being received presently for
entry here.

Line 3 - Similar to Line 2, this sheet. No data presently being
received for entry here.

Line 4 - This amount is the difference between the total acre-feet diverted at
delivery points for the canal (bottom of AF Diverted Column) and the sum of
the acre feet diverted by IID and CVWD at the Pilot Knob delivery point.

Line 5 - The sum of the deliveries for IID and CVWD.

Line 6 - Line 1 minus the sum of Lines 2 through 5.
scheme is used here as on the Yuma Main Canal WLDS -

The same computational
total water entering the

9
