Reclamation has indicated on the reservoir maps of Blue "~sa and Gate-

view, proposed relocations for existin~. highways. These relocations

as shown, appear to be too close to the reservoirs to ~errr~t maximum

recreation use of t~e shore lines.

B. Hecoc1~endations

The follo...,ing recOiamendations are rrede:

1. That the Blue "',esa, Gateview and Cebolla rleservoir

sites be given further datailed study if and wilen the dams are

authorized for construction.

2. That if a road io to be constructed in connection

with the power plant proposed for the Taylor ~ark site, further de-

tailed study be given the site if and when the d&~ is authorized for

construction.

3. That the oUTeau restudy the present proposed vlans of

operation for the A1Jnont and Curecanti Heservoirs to determine if it

is possible to ~int~in a more constant water level during the recre-

ation season. If this is Vo~~ible, further detailed study should

be given to recreation jJossibilities of these t"o areas.

4. That further study be given to the problem of

hi8hway relocations at Blue nesa, Curecanti and Gateview sites in

an attempt to find sllitable ali(;nments back from the shore lines of

these reservoirs, since the proximity of the proposed alignments to

these shores will allow for only limited developments, thereby

affecting recreation usa of thase areas.

5. Further investigation of historical values in-

valved in t!.,is group 0'. reservoirs should be undertaken in accordance

.;ith recommendations contained in Section THO - H of this report.
