f j

.

-64-
solely of ownership of part of the water rights in the Prewitt
Reservoir. The Logan elects one member to the Prewitt Operating
Committee and owns a 17/31 interest in Prewitt Reservoir.
The District is operated jointly with the Iliff Irrigation
District and the Boards of Directors meet and office jointly at
205-1/2 Main street in Sterling.
The 17,000 acre-feet in Prewitt Reservoir (17/31 of its
capacity) owned by the Logan Irrigation District is in turn owned
by farmers under the following ditches:

.

" .

. South Platte UUch 1,022.9 acres
Pawnee Ditch 7, 141. 2 acres
Davis Brothers Ditch 930.5 acres
Schneider Ditch 196.6 acres
Springdale Ditch 3, 481. 4 acres
"Unattached rights" 46.3 acres
TOTAL 12,818.9 acres

.

As a result, the owner of one "district acre" in the Logan
Irrigation District is entitled to 1/12,818.9 of all its water,
or 1/12,818.9 x 17/31 of all water stored in Prewitt Reservoir.
A flat percentage of shrink between the outlet of Prewitt
Reservoir and the headgate of each of the above ditches has been
previously calculated and is automatically applied to each re-
lease for that ditch. The records of the Prewitt Operating Com-
mittee show, for the Logan Irrigation District, the acre-feet
of water which can be delivered to each ditch headgate, after
shrink, rather than the acre-feet turned out at Prewitt Reservoir.
(This is handled differently on the Prewitt Operating Committee
books for the Iliff Irrigation District and the Morgan-Prewitt

.

.

WOODWARO.CLYOE.SHERARO AND ASSOCIATES
