For that reason they "sell" their Jackson

Lake water each year. As previously stated, the Jackson Lake

Reservoir Company keeps no record of these seasonal transfers

and they all appear to be handled through John L. Samples.

The weekly water delivery sheets kept by Clayton Doney are

turned over to Lindy Crumbley and eventually to Ed Heidbrink.
They are the only water records kept by the company.

4. Weldon Valley Ditch
The Weldon Valley Ditch is located in Weld and Morgan Coun-
ties, in Water District No.1, on the north side of the South
Platte River, upstream several miles from the City of Fort Morgan.
It is owned and operated by the Weldon Valley Ditch Company, a
mutual non-profit corporation. Many of the irrigated farms under
the Weldon Valley Ditch would be inundated by the proposed
Narrows Project. For that reason opposition to the project is
pronounced in this area.
The Weldon Valley Ditch headgate is located on the north
bank of the South Platte River 1/2 mile upstream from the We1d-
Morgan county line. The ditch lies on the north side of the
river, below the Riverside Canal, and extends to the site of the
proposed Narrows Dam, just upstream from Fort Morgan. It irri-
gates lands in the neighborhood of Orchard, Goodrich and We1dona.
The ditch can be seen on U.S.G.S. Quadrangle maps for the Masters,
Orchard, and We1dona Quadrangles.
The Weldon Valley Ditch has a rea1tive1y senior priority for
165 c/f/s, direct flow, dated October 26, 1881. The only sizeable
priority ahead of it in time in Water Districts 1 and 64 is the

..

.

.

.

WOOOWARD.ClYDE_SHERARD AND ASSOCIATES
