During these periods they take what th~ can get <br />from the river, but run out of the reservoir only so much as the <br />farmers can use, which usually results in increased storage. <br />The District has a standing order to buy Company shares <br />whenever it can. It is hoped that it will eventually acquire all <br />of the "foreign private rights" in the Company, and perhaps one <br />day all of the Company stock. The officers are authorized to pay <br />$250 per share whenever they can find a share for sale.
