" f3 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />BUREAU OF RECLAMATION, Region 4 <br /> <br />Report to <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br /> <br />CONSTRUCTION <br /> <br />Curecanti Unit, CRSP <br /> <br />Bids will be taken December 5, 1968, for completion of Morrow Point Pow- <br />erplant and construction of the switchyard to serve the Morrow Point <br />facilities. This contract will also include construction of the Morrow <br />Point entrance and visitor building; erection of about 2 miles of 13.8-kv., <br />single-pole transmission line from Curecanti Substation to Morrow Point <br />Switchyard; and installation of equipment at the Curecanti Substation for <br />energizing the Cure cant i-Midway transmission line at 230 kilovolts. <br /> <br />Transmission Division, CRSP <br /> <br />The high voltage transmission lines of the Bureau of Reclamation and the <br />Public Service Company of Colorado were interconnected at the Rifle Sub- <br />station on October 15, 1968. The Rifle Substation consists of several <br />large 230-kv. circuit breakers that permit both Reclamation's Cure cant i- <br />Hayden line and the Company's line from Leadville to Cameo in western <br />Colorado to be operated as if they were parts of a single system. This <br />intertie was made in accordance with a 1962 contract which specified that <br />such interties will be made on a shared-expense basis. <br /> <br />Construction work has been finished on the access roads needed for main- <br />taining the Curecanti-Rifle segment of the Curecanti-Hayden transmission <br />line. The contractor at Midway substation has accomplished over 90 per- <br />cent of its work and expects to full;y' complete the Bureau portion of the <br />substation before the year's end. An intertie with PSC will also be made <br />at Midway. <br /> <br />Paonia Pro,ject <br /> <br />Bids have been solicited for rehabilitating three reaches of Colorado <br />Highway No. 133 along Paonia Reservoir. The rehabilitation includes re- <br />alining approximatel;y' one-half mile of road and providing a wide ditch <br />section; constructing a concrete retaining wall between the highway and <br />the spillway at the dam, and resloping areas along the right side of the <br />spillway; unwatering the spillway stilling basin and general cleanup work. <br />The Colorado Department of Highways will place bituminous surfacing on <br />the rehabilitated segments of roadway at the conclusion of the Bureau's <br />work. <br /> <br />
