Ken Kramer The Corps of Engineers may include the Fountain Creek Flood Control Project in the Civil Works Budget request for new starts in Fiscal '86 budget year. The project is estimated to cost 9,1 million dollars to complete, 351. of which will be borne by the City of Pueblo as previously agreed to under the Local Cooperation Agreement. In the past, local cooperation included the cost of land acquisition, relocation expenses (including utilities) necessary demolition and certain recreational and beautification expenses and maintenance expense, but were not spelled out in the law nor was there a definite or arbitrary percentage for local cooperation spelled out. As the Federal government is being more realistic in the sharing of costs, we feel that the city's portion should be clearly defined in the appropriations bill. We are requesting that you carry out our desires in specifying credit for the cost of land acquisition ($656,342 to date), relocations, land clearing, recreation and beautification be clearly stated in the enabling legislation.
