<br />No major floods occurred during the summer rainy season and runoff during
<br />the period was the lowest of record at many stations. The flow of the
<br />Colorado River approximated only 55% of the median for this period.

<br />struoture on San Si1!1on Creelt runoff is being studied, in cooperation with
<br />the Bureau 0 f Land Management.

<br />Investigation of spring flow in theMt. Lemmon areas is being con~
<br />tinued at the request of the Corps of Engineers.
<br />
<br />Studies for the Southwestern Drought Report have been completed and
<br />wri ting of the report is scheduled for completion in January.
<br />
<br />Collection of basic data was continued as a m/jojor part of the threew
<br />phase Federal~State cooperative program. The objectives of the data
<br />collection program are: (1) to aid in the prediction of ,trends in ground';'
<br />water levels as related to present a,nd future ground-water supplies; (2)
<br />to delineate the present areas of greatest development as well as to
<br />establish the virgin ground-water conditions o.! areas (if potential future,
<br />development; (3) to aid in the determination of the lrydrologic
<br />
