. 00 C"; "l:l'" Flow measurements and geometric data were collected at several locations along the Gurley C Intake Ditch to evaluate its capacity above the chute upstream of Goat Creek. The following procedures were used to collect the necessary data: o At diversion structures, the structure's geometry was surveyed and a flow measurement was made. o At the ditch sections between diversion structures identified as being the probable limiting sections, only the flow depth and channel geometry was measured if no significant inflows had occurred between the limiting section and the diversion structure. If significant inflows had occurred, a flow measurement was also made at the ditch section. o With the flow and geometry data gathered, a value for Manning's "n' was determined for each location. This "n' value and the area and wetted perimeter values calculated for bank full fiow were substituted into Manning's Equation to determine a maximum capacity. Flow and geometry data collected for the Gurley Intake Ditch are summarized in Table 1. Geometry parameters and 'n' values calculated from measured data used in calculating maximum ditch capacities and the capacities calculated are summarized in Table 2.
