Of.JOS8r;

.

.

Power revenues during the calendar year 1966 approached $11 million,

a new high for a twelve-month period. Cumulative revenues through March

31, 1967, reached almost $24 million. Revenues during 1966 were more than

adequate to meet storage Project O&M costs and paid a major portion of the

annual interest charge. Progress on CRSP marketing and revenue buildup is

satisfactory for the three~hort years of power operations and well within

the project repayment schedule for this buildup phase.

The sale of surplus energy was discontinued last August when it became

apparent that generation for other purposes was sufficient to utilize all

the water being released to meet downstream requirements. Surplus energy

deliveries have just recently been started again in limited amounts, which

are necessary because of the water that must be released for downstream

requirements.

During the past year the storage Proj ect supplied all the energy de-

ficiency losses at Hoover Dam resulting from the filling of Upper Basin

reservoirs. This amounted to more than 900 million kilowatt-hours during

the 12-month period ending December 31. It appears that during 1967 We

will also be able to replace Hoover ,deficiencies from storage power gener-

ation.

I
,
CRSP RESERVOIRS'

On the basis of precipitation up to April 1, it appears that the follow-

ing will be our reservoir operation plan during 1967.

As a result of below average precipitation over the Basin during

February and March, the estimate of runoff above Glen Canyon Dam for April-

July will total 6.3 million acre-feet or about three-fourths of normal.

5
