Authority. - The following review report is made in compliance <br /> <br /> <br />with the provisions of a resolution adopted /iJarch 20., 1945, by the Com- <br /> <br />mittee on Flood Control, House of Representatives, U. S., as follows: <br /> <br />REsaLVED, BY THE CO/iJI1ITTEE aN FLOOD CaN'IRaL, HaUSE aF <br />REPRESENTATIVES, That the Board of Engineers for Rivers and <br />Harbors created under section 3 of the River and Harbor Act <br />approved June 13, 190.2, be, and is hereby requested to review <br />the report on the Purgatoire (Picket Wire) River, Colorado, <br />published in House Document Numbered 387, Seventy-eighth <br />Congress, Second Session, with a view to determining whether <br />any modification of the recommendation contained therein <br />should be made at this time in order to provide flood pro- <br />tection for Trinidad, Colorado, and at the same time make more <br />water readily available for agricultural and industrial uses. <br /> <br />2. The survey report reviewed herein was submitted under authority <br /> <br />of Sections 6 of the Acts approved June 22, 1936 (Public No. 738, 74th <br /> <br />Congress, H. R. 8455), and June 28, 1938 (Public No. 761, 75th Congress, <br /> <br />3d Sess., H. R. 10.618). A single report covering the two areas specified <br /> <br />in the foregoing Acts, Purgatoire (Picket Wire) River ahd Long Canyon, <br /> <br />Colorado, was authorized by the Chief of Engineers on August 6, 1938. <br /> <br />At the time of the report the District Engineer found that none of the <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />
