formation at a shallower depth. It is anticipated that this location

reanalysis and redesign will lead to a March 1985 well construction con-

tract award.

When the bottom of the hole is reached, a 2-hour injection test will

be conducted. If results from this test are favorable, the well will be

completed and a 2-week injection test will be conducted. The performance

of the well and the need for additional injection wells will be determined

from the results of the two tests. Upon completion of these tests, a

long-term injection test will begin and continue through the completion of

the permanent facilities.

Water Rights

We currently have conditional water rights of 0.26 cfs for each of the

original 19 brine production wells. We have filed an application to make

each of the 24 production wells an alternate point of diversion for the

total water right of 4.94 cfs. We have also filed a plan to augment the

flows of the Dolores River for depletion resulting from the operation of

the project. The State has issued new well permits recognizing the 24

wells as brine production wells. These permits will allow us to continue

the testing program and to test the injection well.

00C577

11
