Costs are estimated to be $8,000 annually. The Park Manager at Lathrop will supervise a seasonal ",taff as:>igned to San Luis Lake consbting of four position:>; one six-.month and three four-month post ti ons. The seasonal staff wi 11 pt'ovide Ijlervic:es in rec!'t3ational activity monitoring, fee collection, vi$itor information, law enforcement, and maintenance. The primary season of use is f.lxpected from 15 April thr'oug'h 15 September. The DPOIt intends to provide intensive management during this period and limited management services between 15 September and 15 April. The primary recl'eaUon act.ivities will include fishing, boating, camping, hunting, and picnicking. Other activities will Include hiking, horseback riding, Sightseeing, and wildlife ooservati';>n, Initially, recreation management of San Luis Lake will be seasonal. The DPOR will conslder operation on a year-round basi.. if extended recreational need demonstrated. The DPON plans for the southern UlIlit to be a user-:fee area. Details of this fee system are the responsibility of DPOR. A memorandum of understanding between the DPOR and now has been completed ( appendix III )and relates the commitmenb;l of each agency.
