The wisdom of our government is the summation of
the wisdom of those men and women who function in the various
departments of government. This wisdom and solicitude find ex-
pression in various governmental policies that safeguard the
mental, physical and moral well-being of our citizens. Outstand-
ing exanples of this combined wisdom may be found in various
departnents of activities that deal with the welfare of the peoplo.

For example the Reclamation Department. Few of us can
realize, much lees appreciate the wonderfUl contribution the Rec-
lamation Department has made to the well-being and happiness of
thousands. In the main these people, the beneficiaries, are a
part of our best citizenship and our government has been most
generous in making their home-life a place of joy &,d contentment.
He who owns a parcel of land from which he can derive a decent
livelihood consistently feels that he is a stockhold8r in the
government itself. He is a good citizen.

In speaking of the making of contented homes complimentary
reference may well be made to the agency of the C.C.C.. the
grazing service, and the F.H.A. The home owner is a better cHi."'ll
through such ownership. He can proudly say "Hy Country", "My
Government". From the bottom of his heart he can sing:

"My country, I tis of thee
Sweet land of Liberty,
Of thee I sing - - - -
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills
My heart with rapture thrills,
Like that above."
