are based on the old capacity chart of September 1907.

The lake reached a low of 64.9 acre feet by the end of August 1959. at
this time no losses of fish was detected, but due to the turbidity we cannot
be sure there was nO loss. The lake is a shallow basin and as the water
recedes there is an extensive mud flat that makes seining almost impossible.
The lake is now at a new low of 54 acre feet in area and less than two feet
in depth.

The Las Animas Hatchery stocked Setchfield Lake with the following
___fishes andforag~species during 1958 and 1959 after the gates were closed.
