Scoping Meeting for the
Environmental Assessment of the 2nd Round Sale
of Water from Ruedi Reservoir

The Bureau of Reclamation and its contract consulting firm (Simons, L i
and Associates) will hold a public meeting on the sale of additional
water from Ruedi Reservoir, a feature of the Fryingpan-Arkansas Project.
Bill Martin, Regional Director in Denver, announced today. The meeting
will be held at the Glenwood Springs Holiday Inn Motel on Wednesday,
November 17,1982, beginning at 10 a.m., and will initiate the scoping
of the environmental impact assessment of the proposed sale. The
contractor will present his plan for the environmental assessment, which
will analyze the various alternative operating plans, magnitudes of
water sales, demand schedules, delivery methods and depletions to
Ruedi Reservoir and the associated river basins and the environmental
implications thereof.

The purpose of this scoping meeting is to solicit public comments regarding
the proposed sale, identification of specific concerns, issues, and problem
areas that should be considered in the assessment process, as well as
alternative proposals.
