<br />. ...., <br /> <br />, <br />, <br /> <br />......... -.........." <br /> <br />.,. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR'S MONTHLY REPORT <br />TO THE <br />COLORADO RIVER BOARD OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />JUDe 12. 2001 <br /> <br />ADMINISTRATION <br /> <br />Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budget <br /> <br />Included in the Board folder is a copy of Standard Agreement No. 32, to be signed by the <br />Colorado River Board Chairman and Executive Director, approving the funding arrangements for <br />the Board's Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Budget. The Colorado River Board's budget for Fiscal Year <br />2001-2002 is $1,133,000 versus last year's budget of$L121,000. The State's General Fund will <br />provide $225,000, the California Environmental License Plate Fund will provide $15,000, and the <br />Six Agency Committee will provide the remaining $893,000. <br /> <br />Board Retreat <br /> <br />As you are all aware by now, the Board's third annual retreat has been rescheduled due to a <br />conflict with the Mexican Symposium that has been scheduled for September 11-12, 2001 in <br />Mexicali. I have tentatively rescheduled the retreat to now coincide with the Board's October <br />meeting. The Lake Arrowhead Resort is available, and if the Board wishes, I will book the facility <br />for October 10-11, 2001. <br /> <br />PROTECTION OF EXISTING RIGHTS <br /> <br />Colorado River Water Reoort <br /> <br />During April 2001 , storage in the major Upper Basin reservoirs increased by 81,000 acre-feet <br />and storage in the Lower Basin reservoirs decreased by 519,000 acre-feet. Total System active <br />storage as of the end of April was 47.907 million acre-feet (mat) or 80 percent of capacity, which <br />is 4.790 maf less than one year ago. <br /> <br />May releases from Hoover, Davis, and Parker Dams averaged 16,740, 17,420 and 12.860 <br />cubic feet per second (cfs), respectively. Planned releases from those three dams for the month of <br />June 2001 are 16,900, 16,400 and 12,900 cfs, respectively. TheJune releases representthose needed <br />to meet downstream water requirements including those caused by reduced operation of Senator <br />Wash reservoir. <br /> <br />The June \,200\ preliminary forecast of April through July 200\ unregulated inflow into <br />Lake Powell is 5.30 maf, which is 69 percent of the 30-year average for the period 1961-1990. The <br />forecast of unregulated inflow into Lake Powell for the 2000-2001 water year is 8.266 maf, or 71 <br />percent of the 30-year average. <br />
