Tnm-"ll Solar Pond Power Generation to Benefic;"llv Use the

Re;ect stream
This plan makes beneficial use of the reject stream and provides power for

the 101'. Solar ponds require very high salinity water which is often

initially generated using a distillation process to furtller concentrate the

salinity of the reject stream.

The reject stream would be a source of saline water for maintaining the

solar gradient panda that provide heat to operate the generators.

Generated power could be used as either a base load source for the "IDI? or

as a peaking source to reduce 101' demand charges. Power not needed to nm

the IDP could be sold on the open market.

D iT' &: ~ ~ ~;,H \'\j ,~, ;')~!
if 'i~!l ;. ~ "\'.' ~- , "i :.;j, ;.y ~I
j !t Ol. ::- ~:c.. :, :: ~: { ~ ~ :Li"'~ ~:. ~

r !! ~ ~':n ~ t,_ ,"~.~.~
) :.Ll ;~.;.;.,~: :.~;!,; ~

....,.....'.1
j'1 ~ ..,
i!
