The District conducted a detailed field survey with landowner approved actual irrigated acreage in 1994, The Districts survey showed tha~ acres were irrigated in 1994 and were composed ofindividual ditch irrigated acres as shown in the table below. Reclamation reviewed the District's 1994 survey data and determined that 19318 acres were actually irrigated in 1994 as shown below. ~ The actual total Project irrigated acres has not exceeded the 19717 acreage limitation in . the operating principles since initial Project operations and neither has it exceeded the red~ced limitation of 19439 acres recommended in the 1988 report. Although the total Projected irrigated ~ acreage limitation has not been exceeded, the composition of the irrigated acreage by individual ditch has varied significantly. The Project irrigated acreage and its composition by individual ditch should be identified and included in the operatina principles, thus enabling other water users to veritY that only eligible Project lands are being irrigated with the Project water supply, since r the irrigated acreage limitation is such a critical element in protection of downstream water rights.
