Garfield County Commissioners report total <br /> <br />public and private damage of $493,000 resulting from May snowmelt. <br /> <br /> <br />A state contribution to Garfield County of approximately $200,000 <br /> <br />would be consistent with assistance guidelines previously used in <br /> <br />similar spring flood situations. The Office of State Planning and <br /> <br />Budgeting and the Division of Disaster Emergency Services <br />(Department of Public Safety) will continue to work with local <br /> <br />governments to determine what state contribution, if any, might be <br /> <br />appropri ate. <br /> <br />The Governor acted late Friday. the last working day of the <br /> <br />1984-85 fiscal year, to ensure that state assistance -- should it be <br /> <br />granted -- come from'the budget of the fiscal year in which the <br /> <br />damage occurred. <br /> <br />--more-- <br /> <br /> <br />Rich.rd D. l.mm <br />CoveornOI <br />, <br />
