.

.

.

A. NARROWS TO BIJOU AND RIVERSIDE DITCHES
An analysis was made to determine the probable amount

of water that could have been exchanged up to the Bijou and River-

side ditches between the proposed Narrows Reservoir and the Kersey

gage if the Narrows Project had been in operation during the study

period. Under this condition, the Ft. Morgan Ditch would be served

directly from the reservoir and the historic diversions to this

ditch and other downstream irrigators were assumed to be satisfied

from the reservoir. Thus, no call could be made on the river by

irrigation ditches below the reservoir.

The Water Commissioners' records of daily irrigation
diversions and reservoir water on call in the river were used in

this study. The stream flow data available for use in the study

were from the U. S. G. S. Water Supply Papers at the following

stream gages on the South Platte River:

Location

Kersey

Sublette

Weldona

Period of Record

1952-57
1952-55
1956-57

The river accretions between stream gages were estimated

to accumulate in direct proportion to mileage. These accretions

were considered available to be diverted by the Bijou and Ft. Morgan

- 4 -
