2

open pit and underground mine dewatering and slope stability studies; and an evaluation of the
stability of underground mine openings in soft rock. For evaluating the feasibility of in situ leaching
of copper ore, he directed the assembly and use of special borehole testing equipment. He has
supervised and participated in dewatering studies for several proposed mine shafts, two of which
extended to depths of approximately 3.000 feet. His responsibilities on these shaft dewatering
studies included an analysis of expected ground water inflows and an evaluation of potential inflow
control measures stich as grouting and freezing.

Several other projects directed by Mr. Davidson were concerned with the design of linings
and containment systems for heap leaching operations.

Mr. Davidson served as chief engineer for a company providing Menard pressuremeter testing
and consultation services. During this period, he also served as chief engineer for a company
specializing in the application of artificial freezing for construction excavations and shafts. One
major project involved stabilization and waterproofing of a construction excavation approximately
100 feet wide by 150 feet long by 50 feet deep. using artificial ground freezing techniques. He
directed a preliminary research program concerning the application of cryogenics to construction
freezing.

":,

He received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University and
obtained a Master of Science degree in soils engineering. His thesis research was on the subject of
soil stabilization using lime. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the
National Society of Professional Engineers. He is a licensed professional engineer in the states of
Colorado. Wyoming. and South Dakota.

.

.

.
