<br />2 <br /> <br />Dr. Bukovansky specialized in the development of laboratory and field techiques for <br />determination of various rock and rock mass properties. He pioneered the use of flat jacks, radial <br />jacking tests, and on-site plate load and shear tests in Czechoslovakia. His experience in rock <br />mechanics includes various types of instrumentation and the use of advanced analytical techniques. <br /> <br />He graduated from the Technical University in Prague, Czechoslovakia with a diploma in <br />civil engineering. He received a Ph.D. degree in engineering geology in the Czechoslovak Academy of <br />Science and was an associate professor in rock mechanics at the University of Bratislava. <br /> <br />He is a member of the Association of Engineering Geologists, the International Association <br />of Engineering Geology and International Society of Rock Mechanics. He has published more than <br />20 papers on rock mechanics and engineering geology.
