<br />The open channel ending at the section line 3 miles west of <br />Mosca under Plan 1, would be extended an additionaJ. 3.5 miles aJ.ong <br />the north side of the road to a point about one and one-half miles <br />east of the Rio Grande Drain. At this point, Pumping Plant No.3 <br />would be insta.lJ.ed. ThiE; plant would have a capacity of 125 cubic feet <br />per second, a static head of liO feet (elevation 7571 to 7681), and an <br />operating head of 200 feet under fulJ. load. Eight and one-half miles <br />of 60-inch pretensioned concrete pipe would extend from Pumping Plant <br />No.3 to U. S. Highway 285. Discharge from the pipe would be conveyed <br />short distances to existing eanaJ.s and lateraJ.s near U. S. Highway 285 <br />for disposaJ. in the "sub" and for surface irrigation as required. <br /> <br />Table 3 presents the estimated construction cost of the <br />additions required to extend Plan J,. and the total. cost of Plan 2. <br /> <br />Plan 3 <br /> <br />Plan 3 requires that a.lJ. of the water be pumped to U. s. <br />Highway 285 and used as much as pOSSible during the irrigation season <br />with the remainder placed in the "sub". This plan is the same as <br />Plan 2, except the plan does not propose irrigation of the Mosca-Hooper <br />lands from the system. The nori;l::\ and south canaJ.s for distribution <br />of the water to these lands under Plan 1 and Plan 2 are elimiuated. <br /> <br />Table 4 presents the estimated construction costs for Plan 3. <br /> <br />Table 4. Highway 285 and six miles of <br />additional 60-inch pipeline al.ong Colorado state Highway 150. Pumping <br />Plant No.4 has the follOWing conditions, q = 125 cubic feet per second, <br />static head 100 feet, operating ;head maximum 170 feet.
