Plan 1

An open channel would be constructed beginning at the diver-
sion structurl' at Station 1360 on the conveyance channel and extend
5.4 miles westward to the section corner east of Mosca along Colorado
state Highway 150. The channel would have a base width of twelve (12)
feet, two to one (2:1) sides with a 5-foot berm on each side at 12-
feet depth. The invert would st~ at elevation 7519 at the diversion
structure and sJ.ope westward to about elevation 7518. At full capacity,
125 cubic feet per second, the water would be 6 feet deep at the east
end and 5 feet at the west end. The eastern two miles of the channel
would be of embanllment type construction. The west end would attain a
mBJdlllUlll excavated depth of about 25 feet.

Pumping Plant No. 1 would be constructed at the west end of
this channel. This plant, electrically driven, would lift the water
a constant heigllt of about 26 to zr feet :fJ:om the deep channel to above
the ground surface. West of Pumping Plant NO.1, another channel similar
'~o the channel leading to this plant would be constructed. The channel
would extend 4-3 miles along the north side of Colorado State Highway 150.
The base elevation at the east and west ends would be 7543 and 7542,
respectively. The eastern section would require enib€lnkment construction
while the western end would get progressively deeper in the ground until
a 25-foot depth was obtained. At the west end, 2.3 miles west of Mosca,
Pumping Plant No. 2 would be installed. This plant would be identical
in design, characteristics, and. capacity to Pumping Plant No.1. Water
would be lifted from elevation 7547 to elevation 7574 under mBJdmum
capacity.

West of Pumping Plant No.2, a channel seven-tenths (0.7) of
a mile long would be constructed to the North-South section line three
miles west of Mosca. Water wpuld be disposed of along this line by a
canal extending north ten miles to the North Lateral and another
extending su miles south to -the Blanca Ditch. These canals would
intercept and. allow deliveries to all existing surface feeders to the
Mosca-Hooper area.

Table 2 presents a summary of the estimated cons-truction
costs and quantities for Plan 1 from the conveyance channel near San
Luis Lake westward.

Plan 2

r. ,... ,~... t." Highway 285
where delivered waters would be utilized to maintain the "sub".

5
