<br />Oll21~H <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Glen C8IlYon Dam Environmental Studies <br /> <br />On January 9,1997, Mr. WorthIey attended a meeting in Phoenix, Arizona, hosted by the <br />Upper Colorado Region of Reclamation. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the course of <br />direction that Reclamation is taking concerning the feasibility, planning and NEP A studies required <br />for the construction, installation, and opemtion of a proposed selective withdrawal temperature <br />control structure at Glen Canyon Dam. Reclamation has not committed to the construCtion of the <br />facility at this time. The proposed schedule for the feasibility/risk. assessment and the initial NEP ~ <br />process will be concluded in the year 200 I. The decision to construct, or not construct, will be made <br />at a later time. A summary of the process, which was prepared by Reclamation is included in the <br />Board folder. <br /> <br />WATER QUALnV <br /> <br />Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum <br /> <br />I have been informed that Mr. William Miller, the Interstate Stream Engineer for the state <br />of New Mexico, has announced that he will be leaving state service and therefore, will be resigning <br />as Chairman of the Colorado River Basin Salinity Control Forum (Forum). I, therefore, will be <br />acting chairman at the spring meeting.
