<br />~ .,~ -':" ~ <br /> <br /><<1') <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />December, 1981 <br /> <br />APPLICATION FOR FEASIBILITY STUDY: <br />GRAND MESA PROJECT <br />, <br /> <br />The Grand Mesa Water Conservancy District applied to the <br /> <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board for a project in June, 1980. <br /> <br />The proposed project would include but would not be limited to <br /> <br />the following: <br /> <br />(a) rehabilitation and enlargement of a feeder canal system <br /> <br /> <br />to Cactus Park Reservoir, including the SOOfler Ditch; <br /> <br />(b) construction of the Cactus Park Reservoir; <br /> <br />(c) construction of a hydroelectric unit below the proposed <br /> <br />dam, if such unit would be feasible; and <br /> <br />(d) rehabilitation and reconstruction or the District's <br /> <br />existing laterals and d~tches. <br /> <br />The proposed project would improve present irrigation capabill- <br /> <br />t les of the District and pravide addU lonal M&I water ror the <br /> <br />area. <br /> <br />A proposal for a feasibility study for the Grand Mesa Pro- <br /> <br />ject was submitted by Western Engineers soon after the original <br /> <br />application was submitted by the Dlstrict. After dlscussion with <br /> <br />the engineers and some negotiations, a final feasibility proposal <br /> <br />was approved by the staff. Such approval was made before the <br />
