This consists of present reuse in <br /> <br />Las Vegas Valley, plus future contracted reuse by the <br /> <br />Nevada Power Company for the proposed Harry Allen <br /> <br />Energy System. <br /> <br />A 201 Study evaluating increased disposal options <br /> <br />include release of secondary treated wastewater to Las <br />Vegas Wash to maintain vegetation. Disposal studies <br />will be coordinated with the Water and Power Resources <br />Service reevaluated program. <br /> <br />The 208 plan for the Lower Virgin River and the <br />Muddy River has as its objective reducing saline agri- <br />cultural return flows. The Water and Power Resources <br />Service has contracted with the Desert Research Institute <br />for a study oh the Lower Virgin River. <br /> <br />, <br />The Soil Conservation Service is finalizing a report <br />prepared on the need for and means of controlling agricul- <br />tural salinity ground water return flows from the Muddy River. <br />New Mexico - The Section 208 program in New Mexico <br />is under the direction of the New Mexico Water Quality <br />Control Commission. The statewide Water Quality Manage- <br />ment Plan, developed under Section 208 funding from the <br />U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, covers the entire <br /> <br />state except for that portion of the Navajo Reservation <br /> <br /> <br />lying within the state boundary. The Navajo Tribe is <br /> <br /> <br />responsible for the Section 208 planning program on the <br /> <br /> <br />reservation. Much of the Colorado River Basin in New <br /> <br />Mexico is within the Navajo Reservation. <br /> <br />-29":' <br />
