All reissued permits comply with the <br /> <br />ForUlll policy. <br /> <br />Water Quality Management <br />Plans - 208 <br /> <br />The states are developing water quality management <br /> <br /> <br />plans to conform with the requirements of Section 208 of <br /> <br /> <br />the Clean Water Act. The status of the plans are summa- <br /> <br /> <br />rized as follows: <br /> <br />Arizona - The Northern Arizona Council of Governments <br />and District IV Council of Governments have completed 208 <br />plans for the area which dr.ains :to the Colorado River <br /> <br />above Imperial Dam. <br /> <br />These plans received conditional <br /> <br />State certification in November 1978 and final certifi- <br />cation on June 27, 1979. Both plans were conditionally <br />approved by EPA on February 29, 1979. The statewide water <br />quality management plan was certified by the State on <br />June 27, 1979, and conditionally approved by EPA on <br /> <br />September 28, 1979. <br /> <br />Agricultural best management <br /> <br />practices, especially on-farm activities, offer the best <br />salinity control measures. 208 planning continued in an <br />effort to attain more specific plans and implementation <br /> <br />measures. <br /> <br />-26- <br />
