<br />BUSINESS SESSION <br /> <br />and Washington, D.C. 2. <br /> <br />Nominations Committee - Mr. DeRicco reported that Phil Smith, Chairman of this Committee, <br />had suffered a heart attack about 5 weeks ago and, althougb he is progressing nicely, was unable to at- <br />tend this meeting. Mr. John Coppes, reporting for the Committee, said the Nominations Committee <br />felt the present officers were doing a "swell" job and moved that the same officials be elected by ac- <br />clamation for the year 1968. Motion was seconded by Jim Carter and carried unanimously. <br /> <br />President DeRicco reported that Vice President Cou~y was unable to attend this meeting of the <br />Association due to a conflict of meetings resulting from the last-minute change in dates of the <br />CRWUA meeting. . <br /> <br />Housing Committee - Mr. Jim Carter, Chairman, reported that the Committee had reported to <br />the Board of Directors and the 1968 meeting of the CRW\JA would be held on December 12th and <br />13th at the Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas. <br /> <br />Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried unanimously, the meeting adjourned at 2:45 <br /> <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Isl Norman S.Hall <br />; <br /> <br />Secretary-Treasurer <br /> <br /> <br />Resolution No. I: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 24th Annual Meeting of the Colorado River Water Users Association held in <br />the City of Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 7th and 8th,1967, has received a most excellent prepar- <br />ation and is and has been of great interest to those in attendance; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Association does hereby express its apprec- <br />iation and thanks to aU who have so able assisted in this effprt. <br /> <br />And, we extend our sincere appreciation to the officials of the City of Las Vegas and particu- <br />larly to Mayor Oran Gragson; to our President, Elmo J. deRicco, our Vice-President, I.J. Coury, and <br />our Secretary-Treasurer, Norman S. Hall, and to the Program Committee headed by Dallas E. Cole. We <br />also express our thanks to the Colorado River Commission of Nevada, to the Las Vegas Convention <br />Bureau and to the lovely ladies assigned to assist with our meetings; and to the Riviera Hotel and its <br />most cooperative staff. <br /> <br />And, our special thanks go to Mrs. Ivan P. Head and the other members of her Committee for <br />the arrangements made for the ladies at this convention; ~nd to all others who contributed time and <br />effort in making this meeting a successful one. <br /> <br />Resolution No.2: <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in accord with the provisions of the Federal Water Quality Act of 1965, each of <br />the seven States of the Colorado River Basin have submitted to the Secretary of the Interior water <br />quality standards for its section of the Colorado River System, and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, conferees of the seven States have held several meetings to achieve consistency <br />and comparability in their respective standards, and have developed a joint statement entitled "Guide- <br />lines for Formulating Water Quality Standards for the Interstate Waters of the .Colorado River Sys- <br />tem", dated January 13, 1967.
