Twenty-three irrigation canal cx:nq:>anies and individuals reported
repair needs to diversion dams ranging from $60 to $7,000. FOrty-
nine irrigation canal =rpanies or individuals reported needing
replacerrent dams varying frc:ro $250 to $36,000. These include new
structures where either a tEnpOrary dam or no dam existed before.
The Consolidated Ditch (Index No.9) needs a new structure nON
because tbe Rio Grande River has degraded at its point of diversion.
(Table 2 lists repair and replacerrent needs by water districts.)

Same cost estimates made by canal representatives appear to be
low and a notation to this effect has been added. Estimates vary
widely depending upon the type of structure the canal corrpany or
individual desires. (Structure locations are shown on Map-4,
Diversion Darrs Needing Repair or Replacerrent.)

Forty-five irrigation canal corrpanies and individuals responded
with needs relating to this study itan. (Data are listed in
Table 3 by water districts. wcations are shown on Map-5, Canals
Needing Lining or Pipelines.) canal carpanies listed both concrete
lining and bentonite lining needs for seepage =ntrol. The use of
other linings may also be practical.
