This recommendation has been concurred in by the Salinity
Control F\lrum and the Commissioner's Office. The Preliminary Findings Report
recommending discontinuance of the study was released on August 7. 1984.

Crystal G~Y5er Unit

Crystal GElyser is an abandoned oil well just south of Green River. Utah.
It annuall;y contributes 200 acre-feet of water and 3,000 tons of salt to.
the Green River. To remove these flows is too costly for the small amount
(about 0.3' mg/l) of salinity reduction. Therefore, we are taking no further
action.

Not Recommended

Colorado River Indian Reservation

The appraisal level study of the reservation found that it did not add
sufficient 'soluble material to the Colorado River to warrant further study..
Therefore. a concludi'ng report was issued in October 1979.

Blue Springs

Because of the envi ronmental objections and the significant historical and
reI i gi ous v~ 1 ue of the area to the Hopi Indi ans, together with the expected
high capital cost of the project, further studies for the project have. been
deferred.

17

i\

j

:.~~
,,\'i
<u',
