The House version is almost identical to <br /> <br />o S. 2202. <br />.... <br />w <br />~ Executive Director and Forum Office <br /> <br />In November of 1980, with the assistance of monies made <br /> <br /> <br />available from a grant from EPA that was conveyed through the <br /> <br /> <br />state of Arizona and with funds made available from the Four <br /> <br />Corners Regional Commission, the Colorado River Basin <br />Salinity Control Forum established its first permanent office <br /> <br />and employed Jack A. Barnett as the Executi ve Director. In <br />1981 the Forum decided in the interest of the seven Basin <br /> <br />states it would be preferable to finance the office with <br /> <br />state funds. The Forum assessed its member states on July 1, <br /> <br />1982, so that the permanent office could be continued and <br /> <br />supported solely by state funds. <br />The Forum offices are located at 106 West 500 South, <br /> <br />Suite 101 in BountifuL, Utah, and the Forum is being served <br />by an executive director and a secretary. The staff has been <br /> <br />actively involved in facilitating the communication on <br /> <br />salinity issues between the seven Basin states while also <br /> <br />communicating to the federal agencies involved in the <br /> <br />interests and concerns uf the states. The staff has also <br /> <br />spent a significant amount of time during the period of this <br /> <br />report working with the Congress in an effort to pass the <br /> <br />Forum sponsored legislation. <br /> <br />-44- <br /> <br />"-" <br /> <br />.~ <br />
