<br />served as the Director of file Colorado
<br />Water Conservation Boarll, a position
<br />he occupied since 1979. The board is
<br />Colorado's water resourcli!' planning
<br />and policy agency chargecf with
<br />protecting the State's in~'tests and
<br />rights in interstate strea1's and
<br />rivers. In this position, l\'1cDonald
<br />represented Colorado on ~e Colorado
<br />River Basin Salinity Control Forum
<br />and Advisory Council.
<br />
<br />A native of Greeley, C~lorlido,
<br />McDonald earned a bachelor of science
<br />degree in chemistry from Colorado
<br />
<br />College, a law degree from the Univer.
<br />sity of Chicago, and a master's degree
<br />in natural'resources from the Univer.
<br />sity of Michigan. He is a member of
<br />the Colorado Bar.
<br />
<br />He and his family reside in Denver,
<br />Colorado.

<br />R. Keith Miller has been selected
<br />as the BLM Salinity Program
<br />Coordinator. He will be located in the
<br />Bureau of Reclamation office, along
<br />with Stan Gappa, Reclamation's
<br />coordinator, and Ken Pitney, the.
<br />USDA coordinator. Keith is presently
<br />located in Phoenix, Arizona. Welcome,

<br />Valley this summer, With funding
<br />from Reclamation and a fortnal
<br />agreement with the Departjnent of
<br />Agriculture's CooPerative E1~tenBion .
<br />Service, more than 80 surge irrigation
<br />valves havs been installed by local
<br />-farmers.

<br />The salinity control benelits of these
<br />valves is being closely monitored:. The
<br />program will be continued ii) 1991
<br />with about 40 additional valves
<br />installed at that time.
