The Water Quality Control Division has <br />initiated a groundwater monitoring program in the Northern High Plains area of <br />Eastern Colorado. The Division plans to expand this study in 1990 into other <br /> <br />/; <br />.1; <br />~. <br /> <br />!> <br />::~ <br /> <br />portions of Northern Colorado and the San Luis Valley, The laborat~ry <br /> <br /> <br />analysis of the collected samples includes routine water quality parameters, <br /> <br />( <br /> <br />~l:" <br /> <br />metals, herbicides and pesticides. <br /> <br /> <br />The North Front Range Water Quality Planning Association, together with the <br />Weld County Health Department, have sampled three hundred wells in the <br />Larimer/Weld region during 1989. The emphasis of Colorado's <br /> <br />~}1 <br />;"f1 <br />?:W <br /> <br />nonpoint source program is to ameliorate or remediate existing nonpoint source <br /> <br />problems which have been identified in the assessment report.
