LA

-Exchange of Management--Agencies and private landowners can
exchange management rights, usually for a short duration, to
accomplish specific short term objectives, For example, exchanging
free grazing on BlM land for temporary flooding of bottomland
habitat on private land,

-land Exchange--Simple exchange of Federal or State land for private
land.

-Wetland Reserve Program--use these monies within Department of
Agriculture limits,

Following are guidelines for developing agreements with floodplain
landowners:

1. Subject to approval of the Recovery Implementation Program, the
Habitat Restoration Program may be able to assist the landowner
in resolving other concerns, such as exacerbation of mosquito
or noxious weed problems,

Progress will be evaluated at the end,of each year's activities. and
adjustments will be made to refine activities planned for the
following year, At the end of the second year. results of land
acquisition activities will be reviewed and evaluated to determine
if continuation of land acquisition activities is warranted,

VII.&VIII Task Description and Study Schedule (FY 1998)'

1.
