1 9 61SUPERlNTENDENT'S REPORT

We have completed the fiscal year of 1993 with completion of 35 runs of
water for a total of 234,531 acre feet in diversions.

We started the year with 48,082 acre feet in Adobe Creek Reservoir, there
was zero in Horse Creek Reservoir and 1,872 acre feet in Thurston Lake,

We had a year with many projects that we have compieted. We have
replaced numerous weir boxes and replaced several tubes in headgates on the
Main Canal.

We have cleaned many miles of ditch on the lower end of Lamar and on the
lower end of the Storage Canal.

The automatic headgate at Wasteway #1 in La Junta has helped to control
the water more satisfactorily to the benefit of the stockholders and the satisfac-
tion of the state,

The flapper gates installed at the lower dam have enabled us to control the
sand to a better degree.

We have installed rock jetty's on the north side of the canal east and west of
KC Bridge,

I have plans for extensive rock hauling in the La Junta and Horse Creek
Divisions and major headgate repairs in the Lamar and Limestone division with
extensive tree and sand removal on the Main Canal.

We have one special project this year. That is to install motors and gear
reductions on Wasteway #2 to enable a better sluicing program.

Thanks to the Stockhoiders, Directors, the Maintenance crew, Ditchriders and
to Janet and Amy for their support.

Respectfully submitted,
lena Smith, Superintendent

7
