Therefore, the Buard of Direct.ora has established procedures
by \/Mch allottee a may make application to the Board for modifica-
tions or changes of the original allotment. In general, these re-
quired changes are divided into t\/O classes, (1) Reallocation, and
(2) Transfer.

REALLOCATION

Reallocation is the procedure provided for in the Conservancy
District Act, of dividing an original allotment among specified par-
cels of land within the boundaries of the tracts of land described
in the original Allotment Petition and Order.

This procedure permits the division of an allotment and accom-
panyir~ lien to fit the requirements of irrigation on the parcels
into which an original tract has been divided in ownership subse-
quent to the original allotment order.

For example, 100 acre-feet may'have been allotted to a quarter
section and the quarter section later divided into two So-acre
tracts. To properly reallocate the 100 acre-feet, the owners and
lienholders interested in both eighty-acre tracts should Join in a
single application (Reallocation form) to the Board requesting that
the 100 acre-feet be divided bet\leen the two eighty-acre tracts in
amounts agreed to by the owners. 'U approved by the United States
aod approved and ordered by the Board, the special assess:::ent and
tax lien as changed \llil be certified to the La Plata County Assessor
for collection through the La Plata County Treasurer.

When an o\lner anticipates the sale or subdivision of a portion
of a tract to which an allotment is attached, an Application for
Reallocation should be flied prior to conveyance, thereby el~inat-
ing the necessity for subsequent agreement on division of \later be-
tween t\lO or IDOre parties.

RULES AND RmtILATIO~

Application for Reallocation shall be made on the fo~ furn-
ished by the District for the process above defined.

Application for Reallocation cust describe the property as set
forth in the original petition and order and must be joined in
by all o\lners of and lien holders BbSinst toe propenj'. The
qignatures of all applicants shall be notarized.
