The report has been prepared under the authority of <br />t.he Fish and 'Yildlife Coordination Act, 48 Stat. 401, as amended; 16 <br />n.s.c. 661 et s"q. The Colorado Department of Game and Fish has <br />cooperated in its pre.paration and eonc.urs in its contents by telegram <br />of August 19, 1959, signed by Direetor Thomas L. Kimball. <br />About 7 miles of Fryingpan River and its tributarie~ and three <br />small lakes will be inundated by Ruedi Reservoir. According to a <br />report by a Colomdo Department of Game and Fish !ish shocking <br />crew that worked the stream a few years ago, the men saw mure large <br />t.rout in one sect.ion of this reach than in any other equal length st.ream <br />section in the State. The river within the reservoir site also contains <br />extensive spawning grounds probalJly used by tl'out of the Hoaring <br />Fork River as well as the Frymgpan. <br />Fryin"pan River prm'ides OliO of the best and Illost heavily fished <br />trout fis~eries in Colorado.
