<br />
<br />As previously reported, the estimated project costs of Ruedi Dam
<br />and Reservoir, based on January 1U5U prices, amount to $12,831,000.
<br />Of this total, $7,600,000 is assignable to the Fr}'ingpnn-Arkonsas
<br />protect in conformn.nce with th6 revised operating principles for that
<br />proJect. The ossig;nnwnt .of costs to the Fryingpan-Arkansas ymjeet
<br />represents approxllnately 60 percent. of the dam and reserVotr costs
<br />($12,77(;,000) exelusive of $55,000 estimated for recreational faeilities.
<br />Intel'{~st during construction on the dam and reservoir is $664,000.
<br />Distributing this sum by the some percentage used for project. costs,
<br />$3D8,400 is assignable to the Fryingpan-Arkansas project and $265,GOO
<br />to western-slope use.s of R.uedi Reservo.ir.
<br />Total annual operat.ion, mllintenallee, ll.nd replacement costs amount
<br />to $lU,700 wit.h $D,200 on tlm ,lam and reservoir proper und $10,500
<br />on recr"ational facilities. The latter portion is assoeiated directly
<br />with public nse of the reservoir. The first portion of $U,200, therefore,
<br />is subjeet to allocation. The revised. operating principles provide that
<br />the operation, maintenance, and replacement costs of Ruedi Reservoir
<br />be borne by users of F~'Yingpnn-Arkansfts project water and users of
<br />Ruedj wnter in sueh proportion as may be det",'mined by the Secretary
<br />of the Interior. Assuming this determination will reflect the same
<br />pro rata dist.ributiou involved in project eosts, 60 percent of the dam
<br />and reservoil' operation, m:1intenance~ and replncement, or $5,500,
<br />would be assigned to the Fryingplln-Arkansas project and $3,700 to
<br />users of Ruedi ReS(lr,'oir water.
