February was unusually dry with <br />above ave,rage temperatures. Project preci pitati on stat ions averaged only <br />28 percent of average for February. Precipitation from this storm was very much needed after <br />3 months of very dry condit ions." ' " , , <br />, " <br /> <br />Temperatures over the Project were above average by about 4 degrees during <br />March.' ' ' <br /> <br />March snowfall increased by 9 percent over February snowfall. Warmer than <br />usual April weather prevailed during most of the month. Denver set a high <br />temperature; record of 84'F on April 27. Project precipitation stations <br />averaged 941 percent of average'for April. <br /> <br />The maximum snow-water accumu1 at ions ,. 'for all watersheds on the Project <br />occurred on1 April 1. Green Mountain recorded 12.9 inches on April 1; <br />Willow Creek recorded 6.5 inches on Aprill, Granby recorded 9.7 inches on <br />April 1; and Lake Estes recorded 8.4 inches on April 1. Percent of average <br />ranged from, 66 percent, at Wi 11 ow Creek watershed to 88 percent at the <br />Green Mount~in watershed. <br /> <br />Snow courses for watersheds within the Project averaged 54 percent of normal <br />snowpack water content on May 1.
