.

RIGHTS OF WAY

Idylwilde Reservoir would be located within the Roosevelt
National Forest, which is operated and maintained by the U. S,
Forest Service of the Department of Agriculture. State and
privately owned lands exist within the forest boundaries,

Rights-of-way would be acquired in accordance with current
policy. The requirements would include purchase of 1,100 acres
of State-owned land and 440 acres of privately owned land in fee
title, In addition, about 2,000 acres of forest land would be
required.

The land acquisition proposed would be adequate for construction
and operation and maintenance of the Idylwilde Dam and Reservoir and
the associated relocations, No additional requirements for recreation
and fish and wildlife development are included since work was discon-
tinued before, these studies were completed.

PROJECT COSTS

.

The feasibility design and cost estimate for the Idylwilde Dam
was prepared in the Chief Engineer's Office, Bureau of Reclamation.
The remainder of the cost estimates were prepared in the Bureau's
Regional Office with costs for relocations of telephone lines and the
fish rearing unit furnished by the Mountain States Telephone Company
and the State of Colorado Department of Game, Fish and Parks,
respectively,

Estimates are based on costs prevailing in April 1965. Contin-
gencies of 20 percent were applied on all facilities, Indirect costs
amounting to 26 percent of the field costs were applied to all identified
properties except General Property for which indirect costs of 23 per-
cent of field costs were applied, These indirect costs include costs
for service facilities, investigations and surveys, designs and speci-
fications, supervision of construction, and general expense, General
Property costs include funds for the superintendent's residence, office
and shop at the Idylwilde' Dam; general service equipment; and communica-
tions facilities, Costs were not developed and are not included for
recreation and fish and wildlife functions.

.

11
