A table of the average daily flows for the Gunnison River below Whitewater and Gunnison
River below Redlands Diversion Dam gages will be provided to the Water Acquisition
Committee upon completion,

VII, Recommendations:

River administration only becomes an issue when there is inadequate water to meet
needs. ,.he total demand of the tish ladder is about 100 cfs. ,.he minimum recommended
flow in the Gunnison River below the Redlands Diversion Dam is 300 cfs and the total
Redlands Water and Power Company demand is about 800 cfs, Therefore, when the
Whitewater'gage \s above 1,100 cfs there is enough water to meet the demands at the
Redlands Diversion Dam and downstream habitat. It may be advisable to develop a
strategy where as long as the flow in the Gunnison is above some threshold, then it
would not be necessary to put in the trash racks and bypass pipeline flows would not be
measured, Then if the flow drops, the trash rack could be lowered and the flow meter
installed, '

VIII, Project Status:

Some portion of this project will likely be needed as long as the fish ladder is \n operation,
Some operational changes to the fish ladder will be necessary if it becomes necessary to
measure the bypass pipeline flow in a low water year,

IX, FY 98 Budget Status

A, Funds Provided: $9,700
B, Funds Expended: $5,444 (56%)
C, Differance: $4,256 balance was carried over for redistribution by the Recovery
Program.
0, Percent of the FY 98 wort completed, and projected costs to complete: Wort
completed is commensurate with funds expended,
E, Recovery Program funds spent for publication charges: None

X. Status of Data Submission (Where applicable): Attached to this report.

XI.

Signed: ISI Rockv Dial
Principal Investigator

December 2, 1998
Date

CAP-4c-2
