<br />30 <br /> <br />744 The SAB will not review, interpret, or otherwise evaluate public policy decisions or assess <br />745 legal compliance associated with the AMP and activities of the AMWG, the TWG, or <br />746 individual member agencies and organizations. <br />747 The SAB will be an interdisciplinary board, composed of scientists who are qualified, <br />748 based on their record of scientific achievement, in a range of disciplines related to the work <br />749 of GCMRC. Scientists will be selected for their expertise and not as representatives of a <br />750 particular agency, organization, or other stakeholder group. SAB members will be prohibited <br />751 from competing for GCMRC long-term monitoring and research awards while they serve on <br />752 the SAB and for two years following completion of their term of service. <br />753 <br />754 STAFFING AND ADMINISTRATION <br />755 Administration ofGCMRC programs will be accomplished during the period of the <br />756 Strategic Plan by a staff of 10-12 permanent full-time science and technical specialists, 8-10 <br />757 term-appointed scientific and technical specialists, and 6-8 part-time students. Our goal is to <br />758 have a permanent staff of appropriate size so as not to lose the unique expertise and historical <br />759 knowledge of some individuals with a long-term working knowledge of the ecosystem and <br />760 scientific studies in the Colorado River ecosystem. <br />761 The Chief, three Program Managers representing physical, biological, and socio- <br />762 cultural resource disciplines, and an Information Technology Program Director, will <br />763 comprise the primary program management positions in GCMRC. The Cultural Resource <br />764 Program Manager will direct all Native American program coordination across resources, <br />765 and the socio-economic monitoring and research programs. <br />766 The GCMRC Chiefs primary responsibility will be to provide adaptive management <br />767 and ecosystem science leadership for program planning and design, implementation, and <br />768 interpretation. The Chief also provides extemailiaison to the office of the Secretary, other <br />769 agencies, Native American tribes, non-governmental organizations and the public.
